Barney Kulok Class of 2005

Barney Kulok was born in New York in 1981 and received his B.A. from Bard College in 2005. He is represented by the Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery in New York and Galerie Hussenot in Paris. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, and Artforum, among others. A recipient of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's MCAF Grant, he has lectured at New York University, Sarah Lawrence College and the School of Visual Arts.

Catalogues of Kulok's work have included contributions by art historians Svetlana Alpers and Laurie Dahlberg, and poet Ron Padgett. Kulok's first monograph, Building (Aperture, 2012), includes an essay by architect Steven Holl and an afterword by filmmaker Nathaniel Kahn. His work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, NY and The Cleveland Clinic.
